Your setup sounds good to me. I guess you have to wait and see. Maybe you put up the birdhouse too late last year. When we moved here, we put up the house in May (me moved in in April) and we had to wait a year too, as the birds already had their nests. I keep my fingers crossed for you.
I survived the long Monday, yay! Fingers crossed that the rest of the week will be easier *lol*
