A Thank you from the Flowers
On a warm spring night I glided ‘round
The wind beneath my wings was sound
The moonlight glowed on sweet fairy land
Lighting the way for the fairy bands
I fluttered through your garden gate
The grass was soft and it was late
The breezes sighed and the crickets chirped
But now I must begin my work
I watered and tended each bloom and bud
I sat on a toadstool and didn’t budge
A movement sudden… and then a noise
The flowers were nodding and singing with joy
Giving thanks for their home in fairy soil
And all the good fairies who came and toiled
