I want to share a story about my youngest son. When he was 5 years old, he lost his first tooth. I sat down and told him all about the tooth fairy, and how she would leave him a whole quarter, if he left his tooth under his pillow. He crossed his arms and didn't speak for awhile. Finally, I asked him what's wrong. He said that his tooth was worth more than a quarter, and if she wanted his tooth, she would have to pay him more. I see, I said. Well, you can write a letter, explaining why your tooth should be worth more money than a quarter. OK, I will, he said. He spent a couple of hours writing his letter. It read:
Dear Miss Tooth Fairy,
My tooth is worth far more than a quarter. I brush my teeth 3 times a day, and as you can see they are pearly white. I eat fresh fruit and veggies, and almost never anything with sugar in it. My tooth is perfect in every way. I'm not sure what you do with children's teeth, but I think you are making a profit. I'm sorry to say it, but I must ask for 12 dollars for my tooth. I even washed it in the sink for you.
