I looked down upon my hand and what did I espy?
A sweet little fairy with gold in her hair;
As light as thistledown was she, as she gazed at me curiously.
I in awe I didn’t dare draw a breath, frightened I’d scare her away
or was she a fantasy I’d conjured there?
She gave me a curtsy, in her diaphanous gown; twinkling and sparkling in the light
then she spread her her tiny wings and flew out of sight.
So never do tell me no such magic exists; for I know I didn’t imagine this sweet little Fae,
and I’ll remember that fairy so fair, light as thistledown with gold in her hair.
