Forest fires are a normal occurrence for Northern Ontario because the way the weather systems go there has always been a lack of rain up there . That is why it is mostly coniferous up there . Problem is man tends to try and change how nature works . If the fire was allowed to burn like it used to then there would not be any fuel for future fires for a while . But we put it out half burned . So now you have a dead tree that is dried out and perfect firewood . :)
