Well done on your FB marketplace find, I’m never that resourceful.  I’m sure the stick on floor tiles will be a good fix too whilst you wait :)  New flooring for the dining room ordered today and being fitted beginning of November, we’ve gone for stick down LVT planks.  The floor needs two coats of screed first, so it’ll take them two days.  In between that and the fitting of the skirting boards, we’ve about two weeks to get ready for them - more emptying of cupboards and moving furniture.  Raining again here, just got in before it turned to a torrent again.  A couple of nights ago it was coming down so fast it was missing the guttering and cascading off the neighbours roof like a waterfall.  Enjoy the rest of the weekend and I hope it’s not too wet :)
