These are the various colored eggs that can be dropped by the Easter Bunny.
Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Indigo and Violet
Each different color egg can hatch a different color chick. It is totally random as to which color egg the Easter Bunny will drop for you.
The eggs hatch the following chicks -
Red Eggs can hatch a Red Chick
Orange Eggs can hatch a Red Chick or an Orange Chick.
Yellow Eggs can hatch a Red Chick, Orange Chick or a Yellow Chick.
Green Eggs can hatch a Red Chick, Orange Chick, Yellow Chick or a Green Chick.
Blue Eggs can hatch a Red Chick, Orange Chick, Yellow Chick, Green Chick or a Blue Chick.
Indigo Eggs can hatch a Red Chick, Orange Chick, Yellow Chick, Green Chick, Blue Chick or an Indigo Chick.
Violet Eggs can hatch a Red Chick, Orange Chick, Yellow Chick, Green Chick, Blue Chick, Indigo Chick or a Violet Chick.

Nothing.  As per the wildlife guide, all colors of chicks (except rainbow) are attracted to the violet egg.  If you want to make sure you get a violet chick, always have an indigo egg in the garden with it.  Since the chick will hatch from the lowest egg color it can, this will insure red - indigo chicks go to the indigo egg and only a violet chick would go to the violet.

Does placement matter?  I seem to recall the indigo egg needing to be to the left.

Thank you both for your answers.

Nope placement does not matter - if you want to 'preserve' a violet egg for a violet chick, you need to have an indigo egg in the garden at the same time - any lower coloured chicks will go to the indigo egg - you can either let them hatch and replace the indigo egg or pull the food to stop the alert until you get the violet egg wobbling before the indigo egg - then you will be guaranteed the chick in the violet egg will be a purple chick.

Are you kidding me? The only way to get a Violet chick is to have an indigo egg at the same time?

Claire and Sparkles7 years, 1 month ago

No, it's not the ONLY way. It's just the only way to GUARANTEE that the Violet egg will give a violet chick. You can still get a violet chick without it, you just have to take the chance that the Violet egg will hatch any other colour as well.

Why does it have to be an Indigo Egg? It seems that any other color would work... but then, I'm not good at this kind of critical thinking.
