I have a underwater toad stool but no mermaid turning up as yet....what am i doing wrong :(

Regular mermaids do not eat cake.

So you will have to dump one of your cakes and replace with food that your particular mermaid likes to eat. Mine prefers fruit on a high table but even then, she might take a number of hours to visit. Once the regular mermaid arrives...the birthday mermaid will eat your fifteen year cake.

We used to be able to use ten year cake...but that does not work now. And fifteen year cake was tested by a couple people and it did not work either.

I use the Alice food for getting underwater,  you get the odd card gardener but often the mermaid comes first feed and mice etc don't eat the food so not a lot of competition.
