What do you like about this game? What keeps you coming back? What makes it addicting for you?

This is why I ask:
I am addicted to this game, and my boyfriend asked me why? To him, games( in general) are a waste of time. And I am so addicted to playing that I can do it for hours at a time. And/or, many times each day.
I know what I like about the game. Now I want to know how you would describe it.

I've been addicted to FL since the first time I played it - over 11 years ago!! For me, FL is an escape into a creative, gentile world where I can forget the problems of daily life for a bit and recharge my batteries. It also is a place where I have met a score of lovely people that I would never have met anywhere else and some have become good friends. FL provides me with mental challenges. I enjoy checking in on my garden every day to see what has come, hoping that I'll find what I want. Finally, FL is developed by a gentleman who is wildly imaginative and who tries his best to give his players pleasure. Are those enough reasons to be addicted? LOL

Nothing that makes you happy is a waste of time :-)

I agree with Elisabeth, and Lisa. This is an extension of social life, which might compare to the coffee meetings of the 1940s wives, or the happy hour we teachers had once a week, it also is just difficult enough to be interesting, but not hard enough to be work!  And, if I have other things I need to do, no one complains about my absence.  Thanks, Mike, you did well.

It's like visiting an old friend each day..just want to keep coming back. Have played for many years and it never gets boring. You can play at your own pace. The neatest thing is meeting people from all over this planet we call our home. It's amazing how much we all have in common. Thanks for starting this topic xx

I still get excited when spotting any unicorn or very rare wildlife! I love coloring in my pictures for wildlife and quests. I love coming to the Forums and either learning something new, helping another player with so aspect of the game, or giving feedback in general. I love the feeling of accomplishment when I set up a goal, either personal or in-game, and achieve it. I like that even when I go on holiday/vacation, I can setup my garden for wilters and still contribute to the game with very little time spent on my part while I relax/enjoy/explore the world.

I also love how this game has brought so many of us together. We become Facebook friends for the gifts and gold, but become a small part of each other's lives in the process. And I love the fan groups who have been created to help with this process of being friends, providing knowledge of the game, and joining together to help each other & have fun.

And above all - I love that this game doesn't have a right or wrong way to play it. Sure if you have a fairy harvest the toadstool in the "wrong" order for some of the Fairy Tales, it just means you have pests visit the food/material, but it's not like you lose a life or health or mana or whatever in the process. I can work on any challenge in almost any order or not. I can participate in all levels of the game without needing to buy my way through it. I can play anytime of day or night; there's always something to do - collect gold, go hunting, replenish food, etc. I can play for a couple minutes at a time or for hours.

I enjoy the hunting and the nice fairies you meet along the way. I like that you can take a break and your garden will
L be here waiting for you without having to start over

It's more than just a game - it's not just one dimensional.
It's fully alive, a whole world with all it's aspects.
Magic, friends, wider social context, goals, strategy (brainwork), achievements and things to just relax and have fun with. It works in so many different ways on so many different levels - for instance the method for doing chicks is different to the method for doing butterflies and different again for doing unicorns and different again for the buildables again for growing sunflowers or pumpkins, again for candies - and so on. That was what I loved so much about FTs
I think the big thing - way back before a lot of these things and I started a few games - was having an achievable goal. When I was introduced to the game I was told that the aim was to get the unicorn to visit. With so many others it was to keep clearing patches of land and putting something on it (real life has too much of that, keeping it wild appealed to me much more). The other games didn't seem to have an end point, something to actually aim for, just more of the same old. In FL the unicorn would eventually come - Oh! What a sense of achievement!
By the time I reached that point, there were so many other things I could do. With the other games (long left behind) if you'd been able to reach the goal, there would be no further game.
