What is an 8-Bit pot?

Claire and Sparkles4 years, 4 months ago

Is that the day 12 calendar pot?

8-Bit frequently refers to a style of computer graphics from a long time ago. The graphics have a simple, blocky style, like early computer game graphics.

Ah! That explains the square spots! There weren't many pixels around back then.
Thanks Claire - and thanks Karen for asking, I didn't know either.

Or do you mean 8 Ball pot?

Tracey and Cobweb4 years, 4 months ago

Day 12 is the day that Karen is on, and the pot is an 8-bit pot.

The Magic 8-Ball is a plastic eight-ball used for fortune-telling or seeking advice. It was first invented in 1950 by Albert C. Carter and Abe Bookman, and is currently manufactured by Mattel. The user asks a yes–no question to the large ball, then turns it over to reveal a written answer which appears on the surface.

A quote ""The Magic 8 Ball reminds me of my childhood - most American kids in the 70's had one of these toys that one would ask a yes or no question to, shake and turn upside down to read the answer that the ball would randomly chose for you.""

So, I don't think it's a British thing. :)
