Easter Chick Eggs

and Frou Frou Bottom wrote1 week, 1 day ago

I have been trying for several years now to collect all color of the Easter eggs, one of each pattern.  I have completed all but one eggshell.....blue with polka dots.....This is the 2nd year in a row in which this is the only shell that I need to save/have in my garden.  Is there a trick to finding a certain shell and design or is it all completely chance??   I find it odd that in 2 years of specifically trying I have never had the Easter Bunny drop me a blue egg shell with polka dots in my garden.  I know they exist as I have seen them in other gardens.  Just curious if there is anything I can do to up my chances of getting one.

The pattern depends on how many uses the nest the egg is droppped into has remaining:

5 uses remaining - the pattern will be spots.
4 uses - Hearts
3 uses - Flowers
2 uses- Butterflies
1 use - Stars

The colour, however, is random. So you'd need to have lots of nests with five uses remaining on them, and then spot bunnies until you get a blue egg droppped into one of those nests. It could take a while!

The design depends on which number use of the nest the egg is.

The order is

5 uses remaining - Spots
4 uses - Hearts
3 uses - Flowers
2 uses- Butterflies
1 use - Stars

So you would need a blue egg which was the first use of the nest after it is built or repaired to get the spotty pattern.

It's kind of a leftover from before the number of remaining uses was shown on the nest - it was once the only way you could tell how many remained.

If you have hummer nests is the egg pattern random ?

Not random, it still counts through the five "uses" even though the nest does not break after the fifth use.
