I'm working my way through a second calendar to get pots I missed. Will the Crystal Ball pot still show up? Any idea of when in the sequence it'll occur? Or is it all just random?

Got one! Thanks! Another question, is there any order to how pots are placed on the shelves? Curious minds and all that...

As a general rule, things of like kind are placed together (each year's calendar pots are grouped together, the magical pots are together, the buildables are together, fairytale pots are together, etc.).  Within the calendar pot section, they used to be grouped by day (Day 1 pot was beside Day 2 pot which was beside Day 3 pot, etc.) -- that's still true for the earlier calendars.  For the last two calendars, Mike has seemed to group pots together by likeness...so Santa's left boot is beside Santa's right boot, the blue glitter bauble is beside the blue bauble pot (which looks like two glitter baubles on top of each other), etc.. 

Oh, and -- the calendar pots will always be found with the pots they were originally released with.  Therefore, the crystal ball pot will always be with the 2014 calendar pots even if found in later calendars. :)
