Hi, Savannah. It was my pleasure to visit your garden. Yesterday was one of the first days I have gotten to spend a chunk of time in FL. I had a good time. :D
Backgrounds are something I never did because I didn't want to use my star dust. But a couple of years ago, Mike changed the effects to last indefinitely, as long as you don't remove them. I set up a great background last fall, and have slowly removed features, all for 1 stardust.  If I want to add another feature, I have to use a stardust.  Backgrounds are still a bit of a mystery to me because I haven't used them much.  But here's a link to one of the fan groups that tells all about them. I hope it helps.
