We lost our oldest hen the other day. She was never a great layer bless her but she was a feisty character and I was very fond of her. I found her sitting at the gate of the pen cold & stiff so I don't know what happened but it was during the day - although they have an automatic door on the coop I always check to make sure they're all in at night - so I assume natural causes. She was 5. So we're down to 2 now. I don't think there will be any more available at this time of the year, probably have to wait until spring to get another 2. How are your remaining peachicks doing now?
