Post 2: LEVELLING UP PLANTS

WHERE DO I FIND THE DULCIA SOMNIFLORA FOR LEVEL 8?
Look at the left hand side of the seed shop, and you will see that there are different pages listed for different levels.  The Dulcia Somniflora is under levels 8 – 18.

I CAN’T SEE A SEED FOR MY BONSAI/HERBS
To plant a bonsai, you need to buy a bonsai pot – click the pot icon underneath your garden, and then go to the Bonsai tab.  To buy a seed for it, you will need to click the Bonsai tab in the seed shop.  To buy a herb, you will need to click the Herbs tab in the seed shop.

HOW CAN I CHANGE THE COLOUR OF MY PLANTS?
For some levels, you will be asked to grow different colours or types of the same plant.   You can usually get these different colours by sprinkling the plant with gold dust.   Some can be sprinkled when the plant is fully grown, others only when the plant is ready to harvest – if you can change the colour of your plant, you will see the option to do so when you hover your mouse over it.

Some plants cannot be changed with gold dust.  The precious (coloured) Flora, Rosa and Tulipa Praecocia (levels 14 – 16) can only be grown if you find the correct pots to plant the seeds in.   The coloured Praecocias for these levels can NEVER be grown in limited edition, seasonal or magical pots or the rusty bucket.  You can work these pots out for yourself fairly easily, but if you don’t want to do that then you can use the Fairyland Calculator or ask on the forums for help.

You do not need to work out specific pots for any levelling up plants apart from the Praecocias in levels 14, 15 and 16.  Once you get past those levels, you can start using any pot again.

If you want to use the calculator you will need to use the last five digits of your FL ID number, which you can find in the address bar when you go to your fairy’s profile (your back wall).  You need to be playing outside of Facebook to find your ID numbers.

The link for the calculator is here – please note that it doesn’t work for certain browsers:

WHICH PLANTS CAN I CHANGE THE COLOUR OF USING GOLD DUST?
The order of change is as listed below:
Bellis Lycaena, Carmena Uniflora, Piscis Aquabullae:  Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Indigo, Violet
Luna Serena:  Full Moon, Crescent Moon
Carmena Aviflora:  Blue Bird of Winter, Green Bird of Spring, Yellow Bird of Summer, Red Bird of Autumn
Odonata Igniflora: Red, Yellow, Green, Blue (change only when ready to harvest)
Asteres Planetai:  Mercury, Venus, Mars (can be changed when flowering, but if you wait until it’s RTH it will tell you which planet you have)
Magnus Plantetai: Saturn, Jupiter (can be changed when flowering, but if you wait until it’s RTH it will tell you which planet you have)
Hibernus Planetai: Uranus, Neptune (can be changed when flowering, but if you wait until it’s RTH it will tell you which planet you have)
Ventus Quatriflorus :  Northerly Wind, Easterly Wind, Southerly Wind, Westerly Wind (change only when ready to harvest)

ALL OF MY ODONATA IGNIFLORA FLOWERS ARE RED!
With this plant, all of the flowers are red, so you will need to change the colour when the plant is ready to harvest.

WHAT ARE THE DIFFERENT SEASONS OF THE CARMENA AVIFLORA FOR LEVELS 9 - 10?
There are four seasons, each with a different colour of flower.  Each comes from the same seed, and can be changed using gold dust if necessary.

POST 3:  OTHER PLANTS

WHERE CAN I FIND THE SUPERSHROOM?
In the Mushrooms tab of the seed shop, the same as all the other mushrooms. Scroll down the page, and you will see the option to plant a Supershroom.

WHERE IS MY BIRTHDAY PLANT?
The birthday plant is available for your fairy’s birthday, not your own.  Your fairy’s birthday is the anniversary of the date that you first added the Fairyland game, which may be a different date to the day you added your garden.

The seed will be available to plant seven days before your fairy’s birthday, and you will find it in the Misc section of the seed shop.  You MUST plant the seed before your fairy’s birthday, as once the day of the birthday arrives (midnight UK time) it will disappear from the seed shop until next year.  You will get a reminder about your seed underneath your garden when it is available for you to plant, and that will disappear when the seed does.

You cannot use diamond dust on your birthday plant, but it will be RTH on your fairy’s birthday as long as you plant it by the day before.  If you freeze your garden at any time whilst your birthday plant is growing, the time to be RTH will be delayed by the same amount of time that you froze your garden for.

I HAD SOME FOREST JEWEL SEEDS, BUT THEY SEEM TO HAVE DISAPPEARED.  WHERE ARE THEY?
Are you looking in the right place?  There are two tabs in the seed shop for Jewel seeds:  one for the Forest Jewels, and one for the Enchanted Jewels.  Make sure that you are clicking the correct tab for the seeds you are looking for.

HOW DO I GET SEASONAL PLANTS?  AND WHY CAN’T I PLANT THE GIFTS I’VE BEEN SAVING?

The seasonal plants are intended to be sent to you by your friends.  If your friends share the link on their Facebook pages when they plant a new one, you can also click the link to add gifts yourself.

To accept a gift which has been sent to you, click the gift icon box in the top right hand corner of your garden page.  You’ll see a list there of all the gifts which you have been sent – if you have more than will fit on one page, you will need to click the arrow at the bottom of the box to go to older pages.

If you accept a gift that you don’t have room to plant, it will be stored in the Pending area underneath your garden.  Please note that you can have only one pending plant at a time; if you accept another gift it will overwrite the first one, which will be lost.

Each seasonal  gift has an expiry date, which you can see in the gift shop whilst the gift is still available (to go to the gift shop, click the gift box icon underneath your garden.

I’M TRYING TO PLANT A GIFT BUT IT SAYS I DON’T HAVE ENOUGH ROOM, EVEN THOUGH I HAVE AN EMPTY POT

The gifts come with their own pot, so you need a completely empty space before you can accept a gift into your garden.

HOW CAN I MOVE MY PLANTS AROUND?
When you hover your mouse over the item you want to move, you will see little arrows next to the name of the plant (or food type, if it’s a feeding table).  Click the arrows to move the item.

WHY DOES ONE PLANT NAME HAVE A DARKER COLOUR AROUND IT?
When you hover your mouse over the plants, you may notice that although the plant names are usually in a light brown bar, one plant has a purple bar.  This just means that this is the plant which will wilt first if the garden is left unwatered.  It will not be the one which was watered longest ago, since different plants take different amounts of time to wilt.

POST 4: THE GARDENS AND THE FAIRIES

HOW DO I CHANGE THE NAME OF MY GARDEN?
Use the Edit Name/Description link on the right hand side of your garden page, next to About This Garden.

HOW DO I CHANGE MY GARDEN DESCRIPTION?
Use the Edit Name/Description link on the right hand side of your garden page, next to About This Garden.

HOW DO I CHANGE MY GARDEN PICTURE?
Use the Edit Name/Description link on the right hand side of your garden page, next to About This Garden.

HOW DO I CHANGE MY FAIRY’S NAME, STATUS OR PICTURE?
Hover you mouse over the mushroom icon, top left, to bring up the menu box.  The option to do those things is there, underneath your fairy’s picture on the left hand side of the box.

HOW CAN I MAKE MY GARDEN PRIVATE?
Click the Info link next to where you see your alert time displayed, on the right hand side of your garden page.  Then click the green button as if you were going to change your alert times.  The option to make your garden private is there.
It is important to note that you cannot make your garden private whilst you have food on the tables.

MY GARDEN IS PRIVATE.  HOW DO I MAKE IT PUBLIC AGAIN?
Every time you visit your garden when it is private, you will see a box underneath your garden telling you that your garden is currently private.  There is a link at the bottom of that box which will allow you to make your garden public again.

WHY CAN’T I BUY THE SNAIL RACING GAME?
You need to complete all ten Elixirs in Herbalism before you can buy the snail racing game.
Completing  Herbalism gives you “superpowers”:  you will get free standard pots (not limited edition, mushroom or magical pots),  every hungry snail you find when you revive a wilting plant gives you at least 5 gold, and you will be able to buy the snail racing game for your garden.  The earliest you can do this is level 14, since you harvest the final ingredient for your Herbalism recipes in level 13.

SOMEONE SENT ME  A MESSAGE, BUT I CAN’T FIND OUT HOW TO GET BACK TO IT AGAIN.
If you have a new message on your walls, you will see a little envelope icon on the green bar above your garden.  If you click it to go to the message, it will disappear but you can always go back to it again, as long as you didn’t delete it.

Green envelopes mean you have a new message on your garden wall, blue messages mean you have a new message on your back wall.  To read them again, just go to the wall where you saw them.  To go to your back wall (also called your fairy’s profile page) you can either click you and your fairy’s names on the right hand side of your garden page, or you can hover your mouse over the mushroom icon, top left, and click your fairy’s picture.

HOW DO I CHANGE THE BACKGROUND IN MY GARDEN?

Check out these pages for full information about which plant/pot combinations you need for the different backgrounds.  These are fan sites, not run by Fairyland, so you may find that the information is not always up to date.

Post 5: GOLD AND DIAMONDS

WHERE CAN I BUY GOLD, DIAMOND AND FRUITING DUST?
Hover your mouse over the mushroom icon, top left, to open the menu box.  The option to buy more dusts is there, on the left hand side.

CAN I BUY STAR DUST?
No, it’s only available as a free gift when you buy gold.  Star Dust is not necessary for game play.

WHY CAN I ONLY SPRINKLE DUST ON LOWER LEVELS?
Before the rules were changed, some people had been setting up fake Facebook accounts just to collect Gold and send it all to their main account by using Gold Dust. This could have potentially caused the application to be suspended by Facebook for encouraging people to set up fake accounts (as well as being considered cheating!).  Fairyland have therefore had to restrict the Gold Dust feature such that only purchased Gold can be gifted.   Only players who have bought gold may gift gold dust, and you may only gift gold up to the amount that you have purchased in the past.

HUNT THE BUG … I HAVE A BUG HIDING,  BUT I CAN’T FIND IT!
Click the blue words in the clue.  They are a link, which will take you straight to the page where the bug is hiding.

I've been reading some recent posts regarding the rules changing. Could you tell me how to find a list of current Fairyland rules? Is there a thread which lists them all in one convenient place?
