I decided to start up this thread after seeing all the complaints about the changes with gold & diamond dustings.  I hope that Mike and the developers do not mind (I am not trying to cut into your revenue).

Times are hard for  me, so I do not think I will ever be able to buy gold. I water frequently, spot lots of wildlife and return all sprinkles and yet I NEVER run out of gold.  Here is how:
1. I finished herbalism so I am sure to get at least 5 snail gold every three hours or so.
2. I try to grow lots of poinsettias for Christmas
3. I AVOID all water fights, and try to visit quieter gardens where I have a better chance of spotting wildlife, including the gold-giving critters.
4. I don not try to get each new critter as soon as they come out.  They will still be around next year, so what is the rush?
5.  Like in real life, I take a holiday to regroup at times.  I freeze my garden, while still collecting the 3-hour free gold.  After a couple of days I have enough loot to continue.
 
Does anyone else have tips to share with devoted Fairylanders like me who cannot buy gold?

1  Try to get gold every 3 hours from hungry snails.
2  Alchemy.
3  Mushrooms twice a day.
4  Every so often the developers give us gold as a present.
5  Hidden bugs.

I haven't bought any gold yet and have got to level 42, Leg 4.

I am currently working my way through TOT seeds hoping they will boost my gold supply. Have so far hravested 71 seeds lol 

don't forget the jewel seeds too, so many want other uses for them, but they are ten gold each.

All jewel plants yield 10 gold upon harvest.   There is friend gold which is 2 gold per friend every 12 hrs.    Alchemy 10, 5, 3,2 gold recipes.
1st myths, m/b combos, endangered, butterflies all yield up to 100 gold.   Mushroom game yields up to 10 gold.       

I mostly water gardens with the snail game for gold, diamonds or the alchemy prize.

How much gold from TOT seeds have you harvested Jean??       I have 63 plants, was wondering what percentage would be gold!!  :)

The jewel seeds are worth 10 gold each. If you plant 9 and don't water other gardens while they are growing and just collect your free gold and mushroom games the gold soon mounts up.

Water in gardens with snail games and pick a snail that could win you gold. Great thread and great ideas. Also if possible get another person in your house to help you collect your 3 hour gold. I always leave Fairyland open so my other half can collect my gold after I go to bed. :-)

Grow Forest Jewels or Enchanted Jewels.  They all give 10 gold when you harvest them.  I see from your list of wildlife spotted that you haven't done the Rainforest or Endangered levels yet; if you have some Jewel seeds that would be a good way to get some gold whilst also getting some new wildlife into your garden :)

I know Lisa - but Jean has harvested 71 plants so far & I was asking "what percentage were gold"!!   :)
